Primes p for which p − 2 has an odd number of prime factors
The integers with an odd number of prime factors have density $\frac12$, so the question asks for infinitely many primes in a shift by $2$ of a set of density $\frac12$; the twin prime conjecture would answer it. Green finds the same question with $p - 1$ in place of $p - 2$ perhaps more natural.
Problem. Are there infinitely many primes $p$ such that $p - 2$ has an odd number of prime factors?
